Name: Dragonid
Phonetics: dragon-id Lifespan: ~80 years Preferred Climate: Temperate Diet: Omnivore Conservation: Extinct in the Wild Danger Level: ★☆☆☆☆ |
Dragonids are the preferred mount of many, coming in a plethora of sizes that fit almost all of the sentient races (Deer, Reindeer, and most Chilopoda struggle). Some variants are equipped with wings, although oftentimes it's slightly too difficult for a Dragonid to take off when carrying individuals on its back.
They're one of the earliest domesticated species, and none exist in the wild any longer. There are no true efforts to reintroduce them, as they're seen as integral to the function of most Universes and a staple of culture. They're eager to please, empathetic, and hardworking to a fault. They come in a huge range of colors, but their meat is considered too tough to be eaten, although it's a delicacy in some places. |
Name: Raptick
Phonetics: rap-tick Lifespan: ~100 years Preferred Climate: Humid/Hot Diet: Omnivore Conservation: Least Concern Danger Level: ★★☆☆☆ |
Rapticks are somewhat friendly, but more often form strong, loyal bonds with a single person or small group of people. They tend to be loners in the wild, and often avoid other members of their species unless they need to reproduce.
Certain variants were domesticated for the use of their feathers, which are extremely vibrant and brightly decorated. Removing the feathers on the tail and chest is painless to the Raptick (although slightly annoying to them), although the head/arm/leg feathers are usually left untouched. They're slightly too large to be kept as pets for most people, standing anywhere from three to six feet tall. Females tend to be larger than males, and have brighter colors. |
