Other Races

Back to Races Page
Races that don't neatly fall under any of the other subcategories go here. Most of them do not have anything in common with each other, and lack common traits with the other races as well.

Dragenmire

Phonetics: drag-en-MIRE
Lifespan: 400-500
Height: 4'00"-6'00"
Diet: Carnivore
Sex: Binary
Type: Non-Pony

Stereotype: Loud, obsessive, bureaucratic
Picture
Dragenmire are obligate carnivores, and have an impressive set of teeth to match. They can even unhinge jaw to consume prey whole, and are absolutely unafraid of using this ability to intimidate annoying other races and their political rivals.

For, while they may be apex predators, Dragenmire culture is obsessed about politics. Most are eager to go into bureaucracy, rising up the ranks through merit and skill rather than violent revolution or assassination (although one can always apply for a murder license...). One isn't considered a Dragenmire unless they can list off all of the local politicians and their political affiliations.

Their unfaltering enemies are Lelikki, who they see as overgrown, selfish brats. Dragenmire sneer at the idea of even friendships with the other race.

Chocolate is poisonous to them.

Lelikki

Phonetics: lell-EE-key
Lifespan: 400-550
Height: 5'00"-8'00"
Diet: Omnivore
Sex: Binary
Type: Non-Pony

Stereotype: Annoying, overenthusiastic, clueless
Picture
Lelikki are ridiculously fluffy - their tails are poofy and mostly fur, their chests are covered with soft layers, and their hair grows faster than the other races. With big ears, four arms, and oftentimes even bigger smiles, they come off as adorably sweet.

This isn't too far from the truth, at least - Lelikki are absolutely adoring. They're just overbearing about it. Their desire to nanny the other races often accidentally comes across as condescending, when really they just think everyone's so precious, come for hugs! Dragenmires suffer this doting affection the most, leading them to universally despise Lelikki. The sac of chocolate in Lelikki tails doesn't serve to make this any better.

They also tend to be materialistic, collecting plenty of junk and leaving it strewn around their house. Sentimental to a fault, they can quickly become possessive of objects that have good memories attached to them.

Lelikki have strong paternal drives, and both heavily desire children and make strong, loving parents.

Ant

Phonetics: ant
Lifespan: 500-1000
Height: 6'00"-12'00"
Diet: Omnivore
Sex: (variant-dependent)
Type: Non-Pony

Stereotype: Violent, angry, cruel, bloodthristy
Picture
Ants are woefully misunderstood by the other races, but as long as they're left alone to their personal culture, they're fine with it. Sporting four arms, a pudgy tail, and two antennae on the top of their head, any Ant is instantly recognizable. Most have sharper teeth, and differently-colored blood depending on caste.

They form massive colonies, comprised of a hierarchy structured around the four castes: Dinergates, Ergates, Aner, and Gyne. These colonies adore their internal members to a fault, but violently reject other colonies, and often war over Gyne and their protection. They'd rather kill first, and ask questions later, most of the time.

The highest caste is Gyne, who are spoiled absolutely rotten and coveted for their rareness. Aner serve as the leaders of the army, while Ergates tend to the colony's inner workings, acting as cooks/maids/etc. Dinergates are the lowest caste and made up of cannon fodder soldiers.

Rhino

Phonetics: rine-OH
Lifespan: 300-400
Height: 4'00"-5'00"
Diet: Omnivore
Sex: Binary
Type: Non-Pony

Stereotype: Downtrodden, meek, submissive, quiet
Picture
Rhinos sport a single, glowing horn on their head and a thicker tail with a mouth on its end, usually grinning. These come into play when a Rhino's natural ability is being used: the unique talent to process Magninium out of objects.

Rhino can be fed enchanted/cursed objects. After some time, the item appears in the tailmouth's teeth, freshly unenchanted, and the Rhino will vomit up raw Magninium as part of the process. This has been used as an excuse to often enslave Rhino, or leave them as second-class citizens - their usefulness when it comes to checking items has left many interested in exploiting it.

Because of this, most Rhino are meek and quiet, and do not have a very unified culture, as they often are not in contact with other members of their race. In Universes with advanced freedoms, some Rhino may be outspoken about the enslavement, and protest for their rights.

Here is a comic detailing the process.

Eurys

Phonetics: yur-EES
Lifespan: 400-500
Height: 6'00"-9'00"
Diet: Omnivore
Sex: Binary
Type: Non-Pony

Stereotype: Impulsive, nonchalant, erratic, fun
Picture
Marked with curling horns on their head and a long, furred tail, Eurys look rather average. Their fur is shorter than most other races', and it's easy to brush it back and see the skin underneath.

However, Eurys are naturally flame- and heat-resistant, to the point of being completely unaffected by warm temperatures or being burnt. They can quite literally take a dip in a pool of molten lava and relax as if it were a hot tub, making them useful when it comes to firefighting and volcanic research.

They often take their work in stride, often coming across as especially laidback. It takes a lot to anger them, typically, but they can be shaken into more excitable emotions if their interests are appealed to. An energetic Eurys is almost impossible to stop once their ball's gotten rolling.

It's common for Eurys to show off their abilities by lighting matches and attempting to set fire to their fur.

Pronghorn

Phonetics: PRONG-horn
Lifespan: 400-500
Height: 5'00"-6'00"
Diet: Omnivore
Sex: Anbinary
Type: Non-Pony

Stereotype: Intense, passionate, speedy, evasive
Picture
Pronghorns are named for the two pronged, ivory horns on their head, which most see as their pride and joy. They also have a line of small spikes running down from their back all the way to the tip of their tail, covered in fur. These spikes can be somewhat painful, if one is met with the business end of them.

They're well-known for their speed, as Prongs are the fastest runners among all sentient races (among swimmers, Mermaids rank fastest). This often leads to Pronghorns going into athletics, especially track, racing, cross-country, etc. Of course, non-athletic Pronghorns are often frustrated at the assumption that they're all good at sports.

Whatever they feel, Pronghorns always feel it strongly. They can quickly become overwhelmed by negative emotions and shut down, refusing to address whatever issue they're facing. If push comes to shove, they'll likely take some time away from everyone else to go for a brief jog to clear their minds.

Giraffe

Phonetics: gir-AFFE
Lifespan: 170-200
Height: 7'00"-10'00"
Diet: Omnivore
Sex: Binary
Type: Non-Pony

Stereotype: Workaholic, sporty, energetic, athletic
Picture
If Pronghorns are considered runners, then Giraffes are the bastions of all other sports. Athletic and competitive, they're always eager to throw down whenever possible, and invent competitions to come up with conflict resolution. You're fine with doing javelin throwing to figure out where to eat for lunch, right?

There are five "tribes" of Giraffe, depending on the pattern of their spots. Giraffe don't normally discriminate between tribes, but do almost universally look down on the Caetera individuals, finding hybrids of tribes to be ugly and garish. Proving ones' mettle through sport may be enough to win other Giraffes' approval, though.

Spots cover a Giraffe's sides of head, cheeks, torso, arms, legs, and tail. They do not touch or discolor any hair, but Giraffe do have two tall, white, ivory horns coming from the top of their head. Intima Giraffe's horns may be stained if they are an avid magic user.

You can see the variants here.

Zebra

Phonetics: ZEE-brah
Lifespan: 170-200
Height: 5'00"-6'00"
Diet: Omnivore
Sex: Anbinary
Type: Non-Pony

Stereotype: Alcoholic, flirty, lazy, uninspired
Picture
Zebra are infamous for their sign language, which is characterized by elaborate posings of their back-fins and glowing different stripes on their bodies. At night, their stripes glow brightly, the intensity of which can be changed by the Zebra. This is used for fast, easy communication over long distances and without the need for verbal speech.

Despite this useful skill, most Zebra tend to be slackers. They don't particularly enjoy work or get much purpose out of their jobs, leading many to simply clock in and clock out as fast as possible. Most other races heavily dislike and judge all Zebras by this standard, to the point of avoiding hiring them at times, even if they have the skills the job is looking for.

They tend to find it hilarious when other races mistake them for Giraffes or Okapi, and will go along with it until the other wisens up.

The structures on their back are more akin to large, moveable fins, rather than wings capable of flight.
