Pony Imitator Creatures

Pony Imitator creatures are classified as creatures that resemble or imitate ponies but are not a true race, cannot learn Common, and do not produce fertile offspring with ponies.

Talk has been made to include a few of these as lesser races or downgrade them to basic animals, but nothing concrete has been established.

Picture
Cyorten

Height: 4'0" - 6'0"
Lifespan: ~100 yrs
Sentience: Medium
Danger Posed: High
Climate: wherever ponies are

Description: Cyortens are a mute, carnivorous species that is often found around battlefields and warzones. They hide during fights and emerge while the dead are being removed to feast on the recently deceased using their large mouth in their torso. They have an incredibly strong sense of smell and can walk thousands of miles to another battlefield to feast. They mimic ponies to blend in with soldiers while cleaning the dead, but have no vocal chords, and cannot speak or make noises. Burning incense can frighten them away due to the smell, and they are the primary reason many armies will light candles around battlefields before beginning to bury the dead.

Martentry

Height: 3'0"
Lifespan: 50 yrs
Sentience: High
Danger Posed: Low
Climate: Humid, wet, salty, watery
Description: Martentries linger near beaches (both oceans and lakes) and hunt small fish using their antennae and pincers. They are quite skittish and typically flee from ponies, but have been shown to form family units with one another and care for young. The young are typically very curious of beach-dwelling ponies and often interact with them, while the adults stay away. They are oftentimes captured and sold as quasi-intelligent pets, and can be taught basic commands. There are a few recorded Martentries that have learned Common and can identify objects when commanded (in Common) to find them, but have never spoken the language themselves. As a whole, they lack many defensive abilities, which could explain why they camouflage as ponies.

Gulphane

Height: 6'0"
Lifespan: 80 yrs
Sentience: Medium
Danger Posed: Medium
Climate: Cold, forests, arid
Description: Gulphanes highly resemble ponies save for their "false" mouth (typically hidden in their neck, but can be at other joints of the body). This mouth contains an extremely long tongue, which they use to capture their prey and consume it whole. They do not understand Common at all, and will eat ponies if presented with the chance, although they do not go out of their way to hunt or attack ponies. They can shapeshift for brief periods of time and can change parts of their form to better blend with ponies if hiding from predators, and actually share a surprising amount of DNA with Beauts. Beauts deny any relation to Gulphanes, however.

Picture
Chimera

Height: 5'0"-7'0"
Lifespan: 150-200 yrs
Sentience: Medium
Danger Posed: Medium
Climate: Hot, arid
Description: Chimeras are bug-pony hybrids (unlike Underworlders, who are ponies that simply resemble insects, Chimeras have visible insect limbs and/or mannerisms). They parrot Common back to ponies when taught it, but seem unable to understand what they are saying or philosophize. Typically solitary, they avoid other members of their species and have never been noted to reproduce (however, they still multiply, and their population is exponentially increasing). Smaller types are sold on the black market as pets. As they can be a mixture of any insects, appearances, diets, and personality vary heavily among them. A few individuals are at pony levels of sentience.
